Dr. Rajesh Ramachandran
Linguistic Diversity, Official Language Choice and Nation Building: Theory and Evidence

Rajesh Ramachandran graduated in Economics in Delhi and obtained his Ph.D. at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Since June 2013 he is a post-doctoral fellow at the Chair for the Study of Economic Institutions, Innovation and East Asian Development. Rajesh Ramachandran is working on the project AFRASO (Africa's Asian Options) supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). His main area of research is at the intersection of development economics and its political economy. His principal interests include language policy, economics of discrimination and institutional economics.
