Catia Batista is an Associate Professor of Economics at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Catia is also Co-Founder and Scientific Director of the NOVAFRICA research center. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Catia’s research interests are international migration and remittance flows, mobile money, entrepreneurship, technology adoption, education, and policy evaluation. She worked at the International Monetary Fund and consulted for the World Bank and the International Growth Center. Catia was a guest speaker at the NCID Workshop on Migration on November 11.
