Álvaro Sanz provided the group with an in-depth analysis about the paper: “From Liberation Movement to Government,” written by Christopher Clapham. In his presentation, Sanz highlighted the virtues of liberation movements as well as their challenges in governing. Despite these noble virtues, liberation movements have experienced enormous difficulty in making the transition from struggle to government. These problems are structural, rooted in the experience of struggle, and common to every liberation movement.
