The local office of the Development Program of the United Nations, through ODS TV, has awarded the research proposal of the NCID-CINDERE team against violence in Guatemala. The project consists of evaluating the impact of mass media on indicators of violence. This is a problem of great relevance, since Guatemala has the 13th highest rate of killings in the world with 27.3 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants. Worse still is the situation in Guatemala City, which has a figure of 54.49 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.

This past Tuesday, March 19, the prize was presented at a ceremony held in Guatemala City attended by the representative of NCID-CINDERE in Guatemala, Rodrigo Asturias. The project granted by the UNDP is marked within the Sustainable Development Goals and the NCID-CINDERE was one of the ten award-winning teams.
