NCID’s Resident Fellow Alex Armand and Research Assistant Ivan Kim traveled on May 6-10 to Guatemala to visit its local partner CINDERE, a research center at Universidad del Istmo. The objective of their trip was for them and Rodrigo Asturias, Research Assistant at CINDERE, to hold initial meetings with Fundación Ciudades Conectadas.
This local NGO awarded NCID and CINDERE space on mass media and technical support for the design of a campaign related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The award was granted with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). As part of this project, NCID and CINDERE plan to target goal 16, which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies.
This new door allows the NCID-CINDERE to reinforce its objective of gaining presence in Guatemala through institutional relations and possibilities of new research projects.
