NCID Research Assistant Héctor Cárcel presented his master thesis “Fractional Integration in the West African Economic and Monetary Union”, which he conducted under the supervision of Professor Luis Alberiko Gil-Alaña.

"Which services most affect the productivity of firms in Sub-Saharan Africa?" This was the major research question put forth by Godfrey Madigu in his most recent lecture at the Navarra Center for International Development. Governments dislike large stocks of immigrants and spend significant resources in limiting the number of entries into their countries. However, once a mass of illegal immigrants has accumulated, a powerful incentive emerges to retrieve some fiscal base by granting immigration amnesties.
