The call for papers for the 8th NCID Research Workshop on Development Economics is open until the 31st of January. Please submit your paper in this link. You will see the box on the right hand of the page. Please make sure your paper is related to this year's topic of Political Economy of Development.

This year's keynote speaker is Romain Wacziarg, Professor of Economics, since 2015 Hans Hufschmid Chair in Management at UCLA Anderson School of Management, and current Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is an American economist and Ph.D. in Harvard. Prof. Wacziarg's research areas include international economics, development, and economic growth. Prof. Wacziarg is interested in what explains economic performance, causes and effects of the global spread of democracy over the last few decades, and how rooted features of societies affect their economic performance.

Other confirmed speakers are Julien Labonne, Associate Professor of Economics and Public Policy, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford; Marta Reynal-Querol, ICREA Research Professor at the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Director of the IPEG; Justin Sandefur, Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development; Rohini Somanathan, Professor of Economics at the Delhi School of Economics and Pedro Vicente, Associate Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Scientific Director at Novafrica.

Submissions
Please submit your paper through our website before 31st of January 2019 (by 12pm CET). If you experience any problems please feel free to email your submission to ncid@unav.es. Only one submission per author will be considered. Decisions of acceptance or rejection will be sent out no later than February 15th, 2019.

Registration
If your paper is selected there will be no registration fees, but participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
