The Navarra Center for International Development (NCID) is the best Spanish university-affiliated think tank and the 54th in the world, according to the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, where the NCID is the only Spanish center in that category. In the 2018 report, the NCID ranked 55th, three positions better than in 2017, and it has been considered in the ranking of around one hundred institutions for five years.
Apart from confirming an improving trend, that position places the NCID, which is part of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra, as a relevant research center with an international profile, among other think tanks that are part of leading universities worldwide.
The Global Go To Think Tank Index Report is published by the University of Pennsylvania since 2006. For the 2019 report, the call for nominations was sent to over 8100 think tanks. More than 12800 journalists, public and private donors, and policymakers collaborated in the analysis, and selection criteria included topics as staff quality, academic performance and impact, and institutional relations, among others.
This ranking means for the NCID an impulse to keep improving its research work and impact, as also its international presence, general contributions, and media presence, plus its alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
