Godfrey Madigu will present his research which looks at how regional services from electrical power services, telecommunication services and financial services affect productivity of firms in Sub-Saharan Africa. He used data of 26 African countries from the World Bank Enterprise survey, encompassing 96 distinct regions. The results obtained show a significant and a positive relationship between firm productivity and the variables of firm size, foreign ownership and the export status of firms.
Godfrey Madigu is a Research Assistant at the Navarra Center for International Development. Before joining NCID, he studied engineering and management. He has been involved in the establishment of several programs in accounting, finance and information technology at Strathmore University in Kenya. Currently, he is enrolled in the Master of Economics and Finance at the University of Navarra. His research interests include innovation, informal economy and competitiveness.
