Does confidence influence demand and responsiveness for information? It’s the question Jared Gars, a PhD candidate from the University of Wisconsin, set out to address in his job market paper titled: “Confidence and Information Usage: Evidence from Soil Testing in India,” which was presented on February 2nd as part of NCID’s Weekly Seminars. Alex Armand and Joseph Gomes, researchers at the Navarra Center for International Development (NCID), have been awarded a grant for the initial phase of the 3ie Thematic Window on Agricultural Insurance. Fighting extreme poverty requires giving tools to locals so they can combat poverty from within their own contexts.
