25 students from Strathmore University (Kenya) are undertaking a 2-week course on development economics at the University of Navarra, which started on March 27 and will end April 7. The course, organized by the NCID, is structured in the form of lectures and seminars given by experts from the NCID-Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) and the School of Economics of the University.

During these days, they will learn and apply modern techniques used in development economics research. These key tools include understanding the role of history, institutions and geography in poverty; applying time series while analyzing developing countries; international technology transfer and foreign investment; labor markets and business cycles; natural resources and human capital; women’s decisions on the market and the relationship between labor and family preferences, among others.

The course will also strengthen the personal research work that students have been developing, which they will present during the last day.
