The Navarra Center for International Development - VI Research Workshop will take place on May 8th-9th 2017 at Fundación Ramón Areces, Madrid, Spain.

Keynote Speaker: Stefan Dercon, Professor of Economic Policy at Blavatnik School of Government and Director of Centre for the Study of African Economics (University of Oxford). 

Other confirmed speakers: Pramila Krishnan, University Senior Lecturer and Development Economics Researcher at the Faculty of Economics (University of Cambridge) and Alessandro Tarozzi, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Business (Universitat Pompeu Fabra).

Previous editions included speakers such as Sonia Bhalotra (University of Essex), Pedro Vicente (Nova Universidade Lisbon and Novafrica), Irma Clots-Figueras (Universidad Carlos III), Jere Behrman (UPenn), Pedro Carneiro (UCL), Sebastian Edwards (UCLA), Liliana Rojas-Suárez (Center for Global Development), Jean-Louis Arcand (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies) and, Marion Jansen (International Trade Centre)

The workshop is organized in the form of presentations of research papers in Development Economics from both a micro and macro perspective. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome. Each presentation will be followed by a discussion.

Please submit your paper through our website before 15th of February 2017 (by 12pm CET). If you experience any problems please feel free to email your submission to along with name, affiliation, and contact details of the authors. Only one submission per author will be considered. Decisions of acceptance or rejection will be sent out no later than February 28th, 2017.



If your paper is selected there will be no registration fees, but participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Those interested in attending, but not presenting, will need to register at
